COVID -19 Update

May 8, 2020 COVID-19 UPDATE:
Hello to our Adventure Day Camp Family:
You have been in our hearts and our thoughts as we have made decisions regarding our summer camp programs.
At Adventure Day Camp, we take the health and safety of campers, volunteers, and staff in our community very seriously. We have been actively monitoring the spread of COVID-19 and updating our procedures and plans for summer. We have also been following the advice of local and national agencies in regard to our response in order to best care for our families.
After much discussion we came to the decision that Adventure Day Camp must cancel camp for the month of June 2020 for in-person programs. We acknowledge that there is no feasible way to implement the tentative CDC guidelines as it pertains to camp as of today May 8, 2020 for the start on June 8. We are still holding onto the possibility of camp to occur in July and August, pending guidelines and requirements.
We know that this is disappointing news for some of our campers and their families and trust that you understand that our highest priority when making this decision was the well-being of members of our community.
I will proceed to adjust your camp registration to reflect the six weeks of full camp and this will reflect a new balance. No payment is needed to be received until you receive confirmation from me about the camp moving forward. If this new camp timeline will not work for your family‚Äôs needs we do understand and after you contact me via email [email protected] I will remove your registration all together.
Our staff team is hard at work developing new ways to engage with and provide alternative programming for our campers and families. Please note that our intentions are to continue to try to make Adventure Day Camp a feasible reality working under the guidelines and policies instructed to us to be able to provide a safe environment for the children to play and interact.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, Karen McCallum [email protected] We are grateful for our Camp family and know we will get through this together. On behalf of all of us here at Adventure Day Camp, we wish you good health during this time and we look forward to seeing you all soon at Camp in brighter, happier days ahead.
Ms. Karen McCallum Camp Director & The Adventure Day Camp Staff
